How long does incorporation actually take?
Most companies are incorporated within three working hours of Companies House accepting the submission, provided director and shareholder details are complete. Submissions made outside working hours are queued for the next morning.
Is "Limited" different from "Ltd"?
Legally they are identical and Companies House treats them as the same word when checking availability. The only difference is which one appears on your certificate and which you must display on letterheads and premises.
What do I need before I start?
A company name, a UK registered office address, at least one director, at least one shareholder, and a SIC code describing the business activity. If you do not have a UK address, our registered office service covers it.
Can I form a UK company from abroad?
Yes. Non-residents can own and direct a UK limited company with no residency requirement. A UK registered office address is still required, which is included in the non-resident packages.
